I am sharing information for our fans coming to Minden Whippet activities this fall. We are very excited to host contests this fall and provide some sporting enjoyment to our students, coaches, parents, and fans. Go Whippets!
Due to an increased number of Minden high school football players currently being held out of participation due to confirmed and presumed cases of COVID-19, the direction of Kearney County Health Services and Two Rivers Health Department is to suspend all high school football practices and games until 8/29/20. The situation will be reassessed at that time to verify it is safe to resume. At this time no other school teams/groups are affected by these restrictions.
All high school classroom instruction will remain as currently scheduled. Every precaution is being taken to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff. This is a very hard thing to do but the safety of our students and community is most important. We will follow the recommendations of these health providers and reevaluate as we move forwards. These directed health measures may change at any time at the discretion of our health providers.
CLJMS had AMAZING community support for their Purple/White Welcome. Businesses decorated, people waved, police escorted, Landmark donated water, Mason’s donated snacks, and East students cheered! Thank you!!
Whippet Softball vs. Centura/Central Valley UPDATE: All persons are able to attend the softball games but social distancing and masks are recommended. The game will be in Cairo starting with JV at 5:00 pm. Go Whippets!

The Minden Chamber board decided last night to cancel Bandfest scheduled for Saturday, October 17th due to concerns from the COVID-19 pandemic. Hopefully next year will be a great year to continue this event!
MPS Parents: Due to the recent COVID cases in Kearney County. We are going to require mask for staff and students when social distancing is not possible. This would include our bus routes and activities that we cannot social distance.
